For reliable printing, a printer driver must be able to accurately interpret and convert the data that is sent to it. For this reason, manufacturers of printers and operating systems release updated versions of their drivers on a regular basis. These updates often include bug fixes and support for new features such as additional printer languages, new paper sizes, or improved color matching.
