Generally, there are two ways to share a printer.

Network Printer Sharing: It allows several computers to access a printer over a network. The user of each computer must add the printer to his/her computer through the network. Then all users can print to the same printer from their computers.

Offline Printer Sharing: It allows multiple users to access one printer from a single computer. It is usually used for home networks or small offices where only one computer needs to be connected to the printer. The computer serves as a gateway for the printer, so other users can send documents to it through their computers.

In both cases, users need to set up the printer sharing settings properly. Here is how you can do it:

Network Printer Sharing:

1. Connect the printer to the network.

2. Go to the settings menu of the computer where the printer is connected and click on “Printer Sharing”.

3. Provide a name for the printer, then click on “Share this printer”.

4. Give permissions to the users who will access the printer.

Offline Printer Sharing:

1. Connect the printer to the computer which will act as the gateway for the printer.

2. Go to the settings menu of that computer.

3. Click on “Printer Sharing”.

4. Check “Enable printer sharing” and provide a name for the printer.

5. Give permissions to the users who will access the printer.

6. Connect the computer with the printer, to all the other computers that need access to it.

7. Go to the settings menu of each computer.

8. Click on “Printer Sharing” and select the printer that you have shared.

9. Give permissions to the users who will access the printer.

Follow these steps to set up printer sharing. Once you’re done, all users should be able to access the printer and print documents.
