The sharing of printers in Windows XP is an easy process, and it only requires a few simple steps.

1. First, open the Printer and Faxes window by selecting “Start”> “Printers and Faxes”.

2. In the Printer and Faxes window, select the printer that you want to share, right click on it and select “Sharing”.

3. In the Printer Sharing window, select “Share this Printer” and enter the name of the printer in the ‘Share Name’ field.

4. Select the check box “Allow Network users to Connect”.

5. Now, click on “Permissions” and select the users who will be allowed to use the printer.

6. Once the users have been selected, select “OK” on all the windows and now the printer is shared.

7. The users who you have selected will be able to access the printer by going in the computers of the network, and then selecting “Start”> “Printers and Faxes”.

8. In the Printer and Faxes window, select the printer which is shared and then proceed further according to the given instructions.

Now, any user who is part of the network will be able to use the printer that is shared. The same process can be used to share other types of devices like scanners or fax machines.
